Kyanite, this particular piece mined from the Appalachian mountains, is named from the Greek word Kyanos, meaning dark blue (the same root as the word cyan).  This shard is beautifully complimented by the copper surrounding it.  Electroformed copper.  Fully coated to prevent discoloration.  Size 10.5
