The desert rose is an intricate flower-like formation of selenite crystal clusters with abundant sand grain inclusions. They are found only in deserts, due to the arid, sandy conditions required for their formation. The crystals form into arrays of circular, flat plates, which give them their distinct, floral look.
This palm-sized specimen was found in Mexico.
